1. About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the website www.sallyrule.com and the services provided by Sally Rule trading as The Home~ologist, based at ‘Brambles’, Burnt Common Lane, Ripley, Surrey GU23 6HD (referred to as ‘Sally Rule’, ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’).
By accessing this website or engaging our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or engage our services.
2. Services
Sally Rule provides independent property advocacy services to homeowners. These services include, but are not limited to:
- Online Photographic Review – a written assessment of your property’s online listing photographs.
- Home Assessment Visit – an independent in-person assessment of your property, including a verbal commentary during the visit and a written report delivered within 48 hours.
- Property Preparation and Advisory Services – supported implementation and guidance for homeowners preparing to sell.
- Homesearch – a buyer search service conducted on behalf of clients seeking to purchase property.
- Full Service – a bespoke end-to-end service encompassing preparation, presentation, agent selection, and marketing approval.
Full details of each service, including what is included and what is not, are provided at the point of engagement and confirmed in writing before any service commences.
3. Bookings & Payment
All services are subject to a signed agreement and receipt of the engagement fee before work begins. Prices are confirmed in writing at the point of booking and are subject to change without notice on the website.
Payment is due in accordance with the terms set out in your individual service agreement. Where a payment plan is offered, all payments must be made on the agreed dates.
Sally Rule reserves the right to suspend or terminate services where payment is not received in accordance with the agreed terms.
4. What Is Included & What Is Not
Each service has a defined scope confirmed in your individual agreement. Sally Rule does not act as an estate agent, solicitor, surveyor, or financial adviser. No service provided by Sally Rule constitutes legal, financial, structural, or valuation advice.
Sally Rule cannot accept liability for the accuracy of information provided by estate agents, surveyors, or other third parties. Any reports, valuations, or particulars produced by third parties serve only as a general guide and do not form part of any agreed service.
Sally Rule recommends that a qualified and independent surveyor is instructed to report on the structural condition of any property prior to purchase.
5. Cancellation & Refunds
Cancellation by the Client
If you wish to cancel a booked service, you must give notice in writing to sally@sallyrule.com. Cancellation terms are as follows:
- Cancellation with more than 7 days’ notice of a scheduled visit: a full refund of any advance payment will be issued, less any reasonable costs already incurred.
- Cancellation with fewer than 7 days’ notice: the engagement fee is non-refundable. Where significant preparation has already taken place, additional charges may apply.
- Cancellation after a service has commenced: you remain liable for all reasonable costs incurred up to the date of cancellation.
Cancellation by Sally Rule
Sally Rule reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a service in exceptional circumstances, including illness or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, a full refund of any advance payment will be offered, or an alternative date will be agreed.
Our Guarantee
If a Home Assessment Visit does not provide you with a fresh perspective — with specific, actionable observations you did not have before — please contact Sally Rule directly. She will make it right with a follow-up call, additional guidance, or a refund at her discretion.
The written report is guaranteed within 48 hours of the visit. If it is not delivered within this time, a full refund will be issued. No questions asked.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this website and in any documents, reports, frameworks, checklists, or materials produced by Sally Rule — including but not limited to The Compass System, the PPA framework (Perspective, Potential, Advantage), the 5 P’s System, Plan/Prepare/Present, all written reports, and all owned language and phrases — is the intellectual property of Sally Rule and is protected by copyright.
You may not reproduce, share, publish, distribute, or use any of this material for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of Sally Rule.
Reports and written materials produced as part of your service are for your personal use only. They may not be passed to third parties for commercial gain or reproduced in whole or in part without permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sally Rule’s liability in connection with any service is limited to the fees paid for that service.
Sally Rule accepts no liability for any loss of income, loss of profit, loss of sale, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of or reliance on any advice, report, or service provided.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8. Third-Party Links
This website may contain links to third-party websites. Sally Rule has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party website.
9. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
In the first instance, disputes should be raised directly with Sally Rule in writing. Sally Rule is committed to resolving disputes fairly and promptly. A copy of the complaints procedure is available at www.sallyrule.com/complaints.
10. Changes to These Terms
Sally Rule reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The current version is always available on this website. Your continued use of the website or services after any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
